Description

A concert program that combines music, singing, and the art of storytelling and performing. A story that brings to life the life situations of women and their inner worlds through Ukrainian and other songs with literary texts and images. The songs tell the story of the woman as a creature of God, in her strength and beauty, as a lover, as a mischievous girl, as a protective mother, and a wise elder. They also tell of longing and pain over death and misfortune and how her prayer asks for protection for all. The literary texts and performances illuminate these role understandings from another perspective, reflecting them with real stories and images, so that the heroines of everyday life also have their say with warmth, bravery, and all kinds of mischief on an equal footing. The concert program is presented by the creative Ukrainian-Swiss ensemble: the soloists of the Ukrainian choir "Singing Ukraine" (Olten) as well as the Swiss artists Beatrice Mahler, Olten (performer, lecturer MASK Speaking and Voice) and Marlis Walter, Solothurn (pianist, head of the music center "Solotutti", Solothurn).
