Ramin Rahmi, Percussion/Vocals Traditional Arabic Music, Sounds from the Mediterranean Region and Classical European Music merge in the performance of the Ugarit Band into a genre-, border- and tradition-crossing whole. Each ensemble member brings their musical cultural background; Arabic and Persian instruments like Oud, Riq, and Tombak meet the European flute, double bass, and violin.
The Ugarit Band is an ensemble of the Bridges Chamber Orchestra, a sound body unique and highly acclaimed across Europe, uniting around 25 musicians along with their instruments from various regions of Europe, Asia, and America. Every work of the orchestra is created as a distinctive original – as are the programs of its chamber music ensembles.
With Ugarit, one of these ensembles is now coming to the lake. The name Ugarit refers to the city of the same name located on the Syrian coast, which holds one of the greatest treasures of musical culture: the first musical notation, dating from about 3400 BC, engraved on a clay tablet from the royal palace. And so, this evening with the Ugarit Band promises to be an experience where different musical languages naturally come together. Tickets: 56 / 44 / 23 / 14 €
