In this grand closing concert of the Zuger Klassik Abo 2026/27, the Zuger Sinfonietta, conducted by Chief Conductor Daniel Huppert, presents three remarkable works that surprise with their diversity and depth. The program begins with Frederick Delius’s 'La Calinda,' a seductive dance inspired by Afro-American musical traditions and Voodoo rituals. Next, Sergej Prokofjew’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major, blending lyrical and melancholic elements with lively rhythms, features a highlight dialogue between renowned South Korean violinist Soyoung Yoon and the orchestra. The concert concludes with Robert Schumann’s 'Spring Symphony,' a radiant and energetic piece symbolizing hope and renewal, composed in 1841 after his marriage to Clara Wieck.
