Description

DIVE INTO THE SEA OF STARS
Overnight under the night sky — with ice hole drilling and ice bathing
Imagine: You lie in a sleeping bag, the sky above you is black and clear, the air gently bites your face. No noise. No roof. Only stars, silence — and somewhere beneath you a frozen lake waiting for you early tomorrow morning. What sounds like a dream is a real experience. The conscious lingering under the night sky — some call it star bathing — has a deep core: Whoever lies outside, looks at the sky and lets their thoughts drift, returns to the essentials. Without an app, without a plan, without distraction. That is exactly the spirit of this offer. And we go one step further: Because the next morning we drill a hole in the ice — and dive into the icy cold water.
WHO IS THIS OFFER FOR?
This offer is aimed at cold enthusiasts and adventurers with real experience — people who already know ice water, who have already immersed themselves several times in cold or icy water and know what happens in their body and what it needs. Those who are ready to spend a night outside in winter and embrace the unpredictable are exactly right here.
Maximum group size: 10 people. Small, personal, intense
THE PROGRAM
Arrival & snowshoe hike to Spilauersee
The path to the lake is already part of the experience. From the meeting point in Spilau, we hike together through the winter landscape to Spilauersee in the canton of Uri — with snowshoes, fresh air, and the growing feeling: Something special is happening here today.
Setting up camp
At the lakeshore, we set up our camp together — sleeping place, eating place, fire place. No hotel, no comfort at the push of a button. Instead, authenticity and the proud feeling of having taken care of yourself.
Evening program: Fire, food & silence
We cook together by the fire — a warm soup, bread, hot tea. The evening belongs to calm: a guided night meditation with calm breathing, pausing, letting go. And at some point, when the fire gets smaller and the sky bigger, star bathing begins all by itself.
Overnight under the starry sky
You sleep outside — in a sleeping bag, looking up. Depending on the date, either in the light of the full moon or in the deep darkness of the new moon. Both are their own experience. Those who want to bring a tent can do so — for the open sky you need a warm winter sleeping bag, an insulating mat, and warm clothes for the night.
Morning: Breathing, meditation & ice hole drilling
The new day begins with breathing and meditation — to wake up the body and focus the mind. Then comes the moment everyone has been waiting for: We drill the ice hole. With drill and saw, with care and concentration. Whoever drills a hole in the ice for the first time will never forget it.
The ice bath & warming up
The water is cold. Very cold. And that is exactly why this moment is so powerful. Well prepared and safely accompanied, you dive in — fully aware of what you are doing. After the bath, targeted warming up with suitable exercises is just as important as the bath itself: The body is actively brought back, the warmth is ignited from within.
Dismantling camp & return hike
We leave nothing but footprints. Together we dismantle the camp and hike back to Spilau.

YOUR GUIDES
Beni Imhof — Founder of Kältenetzwerk
Since 2015, Beni has been friends with the cold. What started as a personal experiment — cold enjoyment in mountain lakes, winter hikes in summer clothes, overnight stays in the open nature — is now his passion and mission. As a certified cold specialist and founder of Kältenetzwerk, he connects cold with nature, health, and mental balance. He knows Spilauersee, the ice, and the night out there from his own experience. Beni leads the ice hole drilling, safety on the ice, and the overall process on site.
Martin Rohner — Mental coach & certified cold coach
Martin uses the element water to find clarity and focus on the essentials here and now. As a certified mental coach, he combines mental focus, breathing, and cold into a coherent whole. He accompanies the group through the meditations — in the evening and in the morning — leads the warming exercises after the ice bath, takes care of catering on site, and is responsible as a trained first aider for the group's safety.
Chrigel — Outdoor expert & wilderness guide
Chrigel is the man when it comes to being outdoors. He knows the terrain, organizes transport from the meeting point to the lake, sets up the fire place, and ensures the camp is ready — before the first stars appear. His experience in the wilderness is the calm anchor the group can rely on.
