Description

Tyrone Egbowon is driven by curiosity and the exploration of contrasts. His work includes figurative oil painting and exploratory sculpture made from recycled organic fibers, synthetic fabrics, and classical techniques. He transforms materials, examines their symbolism, physical properties, and impermanence, following an inner methodology that works with fragile sensitivity. Content-wise, he deals with societal, biographical, and historical themes around identity, social inequality, and spiritual questions. In addition to sculptural objects, the canvas remains a central medium, which he aims to put into dialogue with sculpture in his upcoming solo show.
