Tygers of Pan Tang - Live 2027 Robb Weir is not one to take what has been achieved for granted. Since their debut album, he has led the band through numerous lineup changes. Tygers of Pan Tang were a key part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). Under contract with MCA Records, they recorded four albums within three years, toured extensively through Great Britain and Europe. With charismatic singer Jon Deverill and John Sykes on guitar, they produced the albums Spellbound and Crazy Nights. Sykes left the band in 1982 to join Thin Lizzy and later Whitesnake, with whom he sold millions of albums. But Robb Weir, the eternal optimist, formed a new version of the band to play both the old songs and to write new songs that would represent these 'new' Tygers. The backbone of the band – Craig Ellis on drums and Jack Meille on vocals – has been playing together much longer than the original Tygers, and on their latest album 'Bloodlines', Huw Holding joined the band on bass. Huw had previously worked with NWOBHM bands like Blitzkrieg, Avenger, and Holosade. The new addition to the Tygers is John Foottit on guitar.
