Take 4 musical women, 3 equally talented men, and add brilliant and special instruments like the Irish harp, cajón, two fiddles, a diatonic accordion, various flutes, and more – and voilà! You can experience the finest Irish-Scottish sounds! The musical beginnings of the seven-member band TUNEFISCH date back to 1975. Their repertoire includes traditional Irish and Scottish music – quite contemporary in style. They play 'Tunes', originally dance pieces like jigs, reels, and polkas, as well as historical and modern instrumental compositions. Additionally, the band's portfolio includes traditional songs in modern arrangements: old ballads, shanties, songs against war, songs about emigration and loss of homeland, about the dangerous work of miners, and the fate of migrant workers, and of course – as you might expect! – songs about love's joys and sorrows. Listeners can enjoy the passionate use of various string instruments from the fiddle to the Irish harp, different flutes, cajón, diatonic accordion, stage piano, and the Irish hand drum bodhrán. A Tunefisch concert is an evening full of songs, 'Tunes', and rhythm, promised! The members of TUNEFISCH are: Martina Brückner (lead vocals, percussion), Gunter Lange (fiddle, banjo, guitar, backing vocals), Peter Ludäscher (diatonic accordion, mandolin, backing vocals), Vénissia Pierru (flute, Irish tin and low whistles, backing vocals), Rainer Pohlmann (guitar, stage piano, vocals), Karen van Rekum (Irish harp, bodhrán, backing vocals), Hannah Sauter (fiddle, backing vocals).

General Information

TUNEFISCH presents modern Irish and Scottish folk music at the K9 Cultural Center in Konstanz. The seven-member band plays a varied repertoire of traditional and contemporary pieces, including dance music and heartfelt ballads.
