Johnny Cash experienced great love and triumphs as well as the deepest abysses throughout a full life. He mostly emerged strengthened from his crises and was able to celebrate unexpected successes in the autumn of his life. Johnny Cash and June Carter accompanied each other through a turbulent life; they were married for 35 years. When June died in May 2003, Johnny followed her only four months later.
