Tommy Emmanuel, described by NPR's World Cafe as one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world, began his career at the age of six in the family band. As a teenager, he earned a reputation as a sought-after sideman and session musician. In his twenties, he played on hits and performed with bands like Air Supply and Men at Work. Partially inspired by his hero Chet Atkins, who later became a friend, mentor, and collaborator, Emmanuel launched a solo career in 1979 and released acclaimed instrumental albums that made him famous in his home country and beyond. Over the following decades, he performed in major venues like the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall, toured with stars like Eric Clapton and John Denver, and won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement. He also played for two billion viewers at the Sydney Olympic Games and collaborated with guitar legends like Les Paul, Mark Knopfler, Joe Walsh, Richard Thompson, Jason Isbell, and Billy Strings. His latest album, Living In The Light, recorded in just four days, is considered one of his boldest and most rewarding works, blending pop, jazz, and classical music with folk and blues influences. Supporting act: Vincent Schmidt Vincent Schmidt, a fingerstyle guitar virtuoso, has established himself as a key figure in this genre with four albums and over 200 concerts in Switzerland and abroad. A self-taught artist in the "One Man Band" guitar style, he draws inspiration from artists like Chris Woods, Jon Gomm, and especially Tommy Emmanuel, who is his greatest influence. Schmidt has been honored with several awards, including the prestigious Cully Jazz Festival Prize 2024, recognizing his ability to develop ambitious and diverse music projects. He has performed at significant festivals, including the main stage of the Cully Jazz Festival as the opening act for John Scofield, Zermatt Unplugged, and the Paléo Festival.
