Description
This course introduces the sound world of the Toggenburger yodel song and conveys the joy of singing together in an open and warm atmosphere. In the group, a traditional song is learned and its musical peculiarities are discovered together.
Under the direction of Rebecca Scherrer – an experienced yodeler and expert in Toggenburger tradition – the basics of yodeling technique are taught. The focus is on the natural switch between chest and head voice, which shapes the characteristic sound of yodeling.
The gentle melodies of Toggenburg, powerful natural yodels, and singing together make the liveliness and expressiveness of this regional folk culture tangible.
