Description

In the midst of the quiet, powerful natural backdrop with alpine pastures, raised bogs, and the Schwendisee lies the Klanghaus, an architectural masterpiece made of local wood, designed as a walk-in sound body. During the tour, extraordinary sound rooms with hollow walls and resonance chambers inspired by hammered dulcimer rosettes are discovered. Participants gain insights into the history of the house, its construction, and the underlying idea. The highlight is the central room, where the special acoustics can be experienced directly. A sensory journey for all who want to experience architecture, nature, and sound with all their senses. The tour takes place regularly on different dates. Tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. The house can be used simultaneously by other groups. The central room is walkable. Depending on occupancy, some rooms may not be accessible. Arrival:
Public transport is recommended. With the post bus from Wattwil, Nesslau, or Buchs station, the valley stations of the mountain railways in Unterwasser or Wildhaus can be reached in less than an hour. From the valley to the Klanghaus or the Resonance Center Peter Roth, a walk along the Klangweg or a direct route takes about 25 minutes. Tickets for the mountain railways must be purchased separately. The mybuxi call bus enables flexible travel from the valley to the Klanghaus or the Resonance Center Peter Roth.
