Tim Burton's Universe with Ensemble Sinfonietta Bern

Description

From the shimmering wonder in Alice in Wonderland to the festive magic of Nightmare Before Christmas, from the mysterious poetry of Edward Scissorhands to the eccentric brilliance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — this concert takes you into the sound worlds that have shaped Burton's unique cinematic universe. The focus is on the music of Danny Elfman, Burton's longtime companion and one of the most distinctive film composers of our time. Elfman's music combines playfulness with threat, tenderness with grandeur — a perfect mirror of Burton's visual imagination. Alongside Elfman, you can expect further highlights: unforgettable moments from Corpse Bride – Hochzeit mit einer Leiche, the cult film Beetlejuice, the dark power of Batman, and the razor-sharp drama of Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. In this performance, Ensemble Sinfonietta Bern brings Burton's worlds to life with unique arrangements. Look forward to floating melodies, powerful instrumental sound colors, and an atmosphere that quickly transforms — from macabre to magical, from intimate to epic. This is not just a soundtrack concert — it is a live, theatrical overall experience. The mysterious magic arises from the interplay of musicians, the architecture of the space, the light, and the music itself. Feel as if you are stepping directly into a Tim Burton film!
