Description

Tie-dye is in fashion —and is fashion itself—: fabrics are folded, pressed, tied, and in some cases, sewn, to then be dyed. This creates unique patterns used to make charming dresses and home accessories. Shibori is one of the most well-known tie-dye techniques, originating from Japan. However, the exhibition also presents plangi, bandhani, tritik, and adire, through stunning examples from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.
