Description
With FLÜGEL AM FUSS, Theater Lilith brings a poetic, contemplative, and humorous exploration of the final phase of life to the stage. The play was written by Silvia Planzer and Elvira H. Plüss and developed with Ruth Oswalt. Poetic, reflective, and humorous, the play is dedicated to the last stage of life. It centers around two elderly women. They talk about farewells, memories, fears, and what remains. The production spans from lived life to the present moment. Between dignity and vulnerability, freedom and loneliness, a multifaceted picture unfolds beyond glorification or repression. FLÜGEL AM FUSS shows the ambivalences of old age and at the same time offers a tender, humorous, and honest look at this phase of life. With humor and depth, the play tells of ruptures and losses, but also of closeness, beauty, and vitality. Old age here is not seen as a farewell but as an invitation to pause, let go, see anew, and face finiteness with courage and curiosity. Elvira H. Plüss and Ruth Oswalt perform. The staging by Bettina Glaus focuses on reduction and presence, placing the two actresses at the center. The live music by Madeleine Bischof is an integral part of the production and expands the stage space with a sound layer between fine structure and experimental openness.
