Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers, and dancers, all directly from Edinburgh, Scotland, take the audience on an exciting and varied journey through Scotland for one evening.
And no, the men are not wearing pants; they wear skirts – plaid and in the colors of their respective clans: kilts are as much a part of the Scots as bagpipes and drums. Against the backdrop of a castle with towers and battlements - a replica of a Scottish castle - the artists present new facets of Scottish culture. Just moments ago, the impressive sound of the bagpipes and drums resonated through the hall, captivating the audience in the stands, and in the next moment, heartfelt ballads full of longing and vastness create a mesmerizing silence in the hall. The participating artists are among the best that Scotland has to offer. Most of the participants regularly take part in the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo. Many of the bagpipers and drummers are winners of international competitions and world champions on their instruments. Even the combination of traditional bagpipe playing and modern rock music succeeds when guitarists turn up the volume with their electric guitars, and the entire ensemble gradually joins in with their traditional instruments, for example, to Paul McCartney's anthem "Mull of Kintyre" and John Farnham's "You’re the voice" - goosebumps are guaranteed. The spirit and exuberant festive atmosphere are conveyed by the joyfully and energetically presented dances of Scotland. In ever-changing formations, splendid costumes, and outfits, the artists enter the performance area and inspire each other with their immense joy for music and dance.
