November 11 – Urban Spree, Berlin After their return in 2025 with the singles "Nightcrawling" and "You Can Be So Cruel" and signing with the indie label FLG, London indie rockers The Howlers are back with their new single "Viper," releasing on May 7. Simultaneously, the band announces their second album "Heavy," to be released on October 9, a bold and intense statement marking their most defining chapter yet. Driven by a pulsating riff, an uncompromising rhythm section, and raw, urgent energy, "Viper" shows The Howlers at their most immediate, indie rock'n'roll full of tension, desire, and consequences. The song offers a first taste of "Heavy," an album where frontman Adam Young takes his songwriting into markedly darker and more impulsive directions. "Viper describes this feeling of being completely drawn to someone, even though you clearly recognize the warning signs, the urge to make deliberately bad decisions just for the thrill of what’s next, regardless of the consequences," Young explains. "You lose yourself together in the moment. But no matter how much you indulge in the Bonnie-and-Clyde fantasy, in the end, you will always get hurt." After a phase of upheaval at the end of 2024, The Howlers began a new chapter: frontman Adam Young reformed the band with drummer Toby Richards as a duo, a move that fundamentally changed both the sound and the creative direction, giving the band new clarity and identity. This restart followed a breakthrough year: their self-released debut album "What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All" was celebrated across Europe and reached the top 10 of the UK Independent Breakers Charts as well as several positions in independent, vinyl, and physical sales charts. The Howlers received support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, and Absolute Radio, as well as international playlist placements on Apple Music and Spotify. Their success continued live: a completely sold-out UK headline tour with 18 dates established the band as one of the most exciting live bands in Britain. This was followed by a European tour with sold-out shows in eight countries, where new material was tested, ultimately laying the foundation for "Heavy." While their debut album was heavily influenced by themes of grief and personal loss, "Heavy" emerges from a completely different emotional space. The album moves between desire and consequence, loss of control and reality, driven by the allure of the night, impulsive decisions, and the sobering clarity afterward. For a band that has always made honesty its trademark and built a highly loyal fanbase around it, "Heavy" feels exactly like the album The Howlers have been working towards all along. With an extensive UK and Europe headline tour following, 2026 could finally be the year the band celebrates their breakthrough on a broader scale.
