Love is the reason why the famous writer Abel Znorko, a Nobel Prize laureate, lives far from people and civilization. To escape love, to hide from it, to deny all its power. In solitude, in his luxurious cabin in the midst of forests, meadows, and groves, he enjoys life as a hedonist, but he also drowns in his own loneliness. One day, Nicolas Gobert appears at the door. An alleged journalist from a rather insignificant regional newspaper. He has come all the way from France to talk to the arrogant author about his latest novel, Denied Love, a book composed of intimate love letters addressed to a mysterious woman with the initials H. M. What began as an ordinary interview gradually transforms into a dangerous psychological duel between two men with completely different views on life, relationships, sexuality, and the very essence of love. Despite all these differences, they are united by an unspoken secret. One knows it, while the other has no idea about the skeleton in the closet. Znorko disrespects his guest and behaves chaotically to the point of madness. However, the guest from France is determined like a bulldog, and with each question, it becomes clear that he did not come for journalistic work. Facts surface that subsequently dismantle the carefully constructed identities of both completely different individuals into many small shattered pieces of half-truths, self-deceptions, and assumptions. The questions keep piling up. What does the writer hide? And what does the mysterious journalist know? As the mysteries gradually unfold, they quickly turn into a very cruel game of truth. Both men, with their completely different views on love, relationships, sexuality, and life itself, exchange blows like two boxers in an imaginary ring, ultimately arriving at shocking realizations that lead them to the very threshold of life. On the brink of thoughts about being or not being. With the information they must live with from that moment on.
