Description

Welcome to Rozumov – a village where everyone knows everything about everyone, neighborly pranks are passed down from generation to generation, and no shame stays behind closed gates for long. The village has been divided for years by a war between two irreconcilable families. On one side is Šmrha (Vasil Fridrich), on the other is Průša (David Novotný), and both are convinced that truth, honor, and common sense reside with them. However, their children Karel (Petr Uhlík) and Marie (Nelly Řehořová) secretly love each other despite their fathers. When Marie agrees to participate in the television reality show Blind Wedding after another family prank, it causes quite a stir in Rozumov. Karel is desperate, the parents are furious, and a television crew along with an eccentric Swedish metalhead (Štěpán Kozub) arrives in the village. Therefore, in a haze of alcohol, Šmrha and Průša unexpectedly declare a truce and devise a plan to save their children from television shame: they will secretly marry them by proxy. But in Rozumov, nothing stays hidden. The crazy wedding operation gradually involves the mayor (Jiří Lábus), the pub owner (Michal Isteník), the gravedigger, all-knowing neighbors, and television cameras, turning a well-thought-out plan into genuine village chaos. Who ends up marrying whom? Who is not speaking to whom? And why does the person at the bar have the clearest understanding of it all? One thing is certain: this village won't stop until everyone reconciles, falls in love, or kills each other.
