It marks a new creative chapter characterized by emotional clarity, cinematic songwriting, and the timeless sound that has connected The Fray with fans around the world for over two decades. «We have so many great memories from our summer tours. The atmosphere – for both us and the fans – is something that has connected us throughout the history of The Fray and has always been a lot of fun,» says Ben Wysocki. «Playing these new songs in front of an audience will be incredibly exciting.» In the early 2000s, The Fray broke through with an introspective alternative rock sound that felt both expansive and intimate. Throughout their career, the band received four GRAMMY nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, several Billboard Top 10 hits, and built a loyal international fanbase. Their breakthrough single «How to Save a Life» was awarded RIAA Diamond, spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and became an anthem through its connection to the Emmy-winning ABC series Grey’s Anatomy. More milestone news followed this week: The successful album How to Save a Life was newly certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA – further proof that the band's catalog continues to resonate with both long-time listeners and new fans. After more than two decades of shared hits, Joe King, Ben Wysocki, and Dave Welsh reach a new creative step with this project: For the first time, they wrote all 11 songs of the album together as a band. This includes their current single «Ice Cold Lakes», which they performed this week on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Watch the performance here and the official visualizer here. The band also kicked off the release week with a special performance and discussion at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, moderated by journalist and producer Adam Weissler. In front of a sold-out audience, they shared stories from their early days, reflected on their biggest hits, and gave a first glimpse of new songs from the album.
