Then he listened to the band – and the surprise was even greater. When they spontaneously played together at the launch, the question arose that started it all: "So, shall we do this together?" And thus a new project was born – a raw connection of music and poetry, straightforward, original, and uncompromising. The new musical project brings together two prominent and respected names from the Czech scene: the art-rock energy of The BladderStones and the poetic musical sensitivity of Vladimír Václavek. It was not a coincidence, but inevitability. Together, they create a raw, deeply pulsating sound that balances between improvisation, trance rhythms, and the fragility of experimental soundscapes. The band stands on immediate understanding, mutual respect, and the joy of discovery. On stage, they act as a living organism that breathes as one. Their rock ferocity is unafraid to take risks, and combined with a hypnotic pull, it aims directly at the core of the matter – on the edge of dream and raw reality. Yo Soy Indigo Yo Soy Indigo (freak-folk-jazz) is an international band born from the friendship of seven musicians from different countries who found a home in the Czech Republic. In the songs of the exceptional American singer and songwriter Emily Thiel, the distinctive musical approaches of all band members naturally intertwine – from deep lyrics to ethnic music and jazz, all with a good dose of humor. The label "freak-folk-jazz" describes their work, but only partially. Yo Soy Indigo moves across genres and creates its own musical world that combines spontaneity, virtuosity, and the joy of playing together. The heart of the band is American singer and songwriter Emily Thiel, the author of all songs, whose exceptional musical sense and extraordinarily colorful voice give their work its unmistakable character. Swedish bassist Fredrik Janáček, known from the legendary-123min., masterfully connects the individual musical layers and keeps the band together even in the boldest moments. His rhythmic partner is versatile drummer František Otakar Kukula, whose sensitive yet energetic playing gives each song a natural drive. Keyboardist Mark Newson brings warmth, depth, and an unmistakable atmosphere to the band's sound. The rhythm section is complemented by guitarist Maor Van Gelder from the fusion group Mostnost, who brings technical brilliance, playfulness, and a sense of musical humor to the music. The melodic line is shaped by two prominent musicians. Czech actor and saxophonist William Valerián brings wild expressiveness and contagious musical intuition that inspires the whole band. Violinist Adam Pospíšil can switch from gentle, almost intimate tones to stormy, captivating energy in an instant. Each member brings their unique musical handwriting to Yo Soy Indigo. Their collective harmony in Emily Thiel's songs creates an energy that connects the audience and transforms concerts into an intense shared experience. Yo Soy Indigo is collective musical magic – sincere, vibrant, and deeply human.
