Description
The 5.6.7.8’s are true legends of Japanese garage rock. Founded in Tokyo in 1986 by sisters Ronnie "Yoshiko" Fujiyama and Fujii Sachiko, the band has been blending raw garage rock with rock’n’roll, surf, punk, and sounds from the 50s to the 80s for four decades. They gained international fame not least through Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, where they appeared as themselves and their energetic version of "Woo Hoo" also made it onto the soundtrack. But their story goes far beyond Hollywood: numerous releases and extensive tours through Japan, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe have made them one of the most enduring and influential garage rock bands in Japan. In 2026, The 5.6.7.8’s will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a brand new album: Run Run Run. Four decades later, they are still running – and rocking.
