In October and November of this year, TEENAGE FANCLUB will perform 35 concerts across Europe, specifically in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Ireland.
Norman Blake describes it as: "We've been touring forever. Someone just told me it's been 37 years since our first concert in 1989. But I don't see it that way. It's simply my life, our life. That's what we do. But we're having more fun than ever before. If you're ever annoyed by something like this, you'd better stop. Twelve concerts in Spain and all the other places too – madness!" Is this an anniversary tour? Raymond McGinley: "Well, for us, it's the anniversary of everything and the anniversary of nothing. 'Anniversary of Nothing' – that would be a good album title. I think every day is an anniversary of something..." If it's not an anniversary tour, will it then be a tour for a new album? Raymond again: "As a band, we find it important to always work on something new. We still see ourselves as a modern band, not much different from our beginnings. At some point, we will release new songs, but until then, we prefer to keep our ongoing projects to ourselves." Copyright: Donald Milne
