Description

She has a passport, a status, a freedom of movement. He cannot leave the Palestinian territories where he was born. She and he love each other, and their story is set against a geopolitical reality that inexorably influences it. On stage, different threads unfold: that of their lives, of course, made up of back-and-forths, checkpoints, and feverish SMS, but also that of the playwright, who reveals her intimacy before our eyes, in a dizzying mise en abyme of her act of writing. Then appears the enigmatic character of the grandmother, between a representative of collective memory and a mischievous confidante.
After Chaos (2021) and Cœurs battants (2022), Valentine Sergo presents Tatrïz, the third and final part of her Cyclone triptych. Situated at the crossroads of personal and political, she draws from her own experience and her numerous trips to Palestine to tell those who live there. Because sharing her own lived experience seemed the most honest way to tell this part of the world, far from clichés and preconceived ideas. Phrase after phrase, a question ultimately surfaces: How does a geopolitical context shape affective and romantic relationships, not only in the present moment but also across multiple generations?

General Information

TATRÏZ, presented by Valentine Sergo, addresses romantic relationships hindered by geopolitical realities. The show takes place at Théâtre LE POCHE in Geneva and is inspired by the author's personal experiences in Palestine.
