Dancing Idiots

Description

Goldie does what she loves most: She remodels her house. Her joy is as contagious as it is disturbing, because Goldie is seriously ill. She wants to give her best with a body that is giving up on her. Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Goldie's newly in love father stands at the door with his lover. The two are on their way to the sea with their motorhome and pay Goldie a surprise visit. Completely unexpectedly, the father, almost bursting with happiness, finds himself at the deathbed of his own daughter. At first, he believes himself, in the end, she knows herself. Goldie's room is flooded once again with the whole world, all that makes parting so difficult. The second part tells the story of Goldie's dying. The living space Earth is left and within seconds her room turns into outer space.
In DANCING IDIOTS, the illustrious ensemble plays survivors on the way to the next catastrophe. What defines them is an absurd mix of brutality and tenderness, existential pain and zest for life. During the evening, the audience experiences with Goldie what makes parting so difficult: wild kayaking trips, sleeping tomcats, out-of-control sauna visits, and forgotten memories of a baby. We look forward to seeing the fabulous team again, who were guests at the Kurtheater in January 2024 with CRAZY FOR COMFORT.
