When the world trembles, you tremble too. What political and metaphysical implications does a trembling body have in a trembling world? What resonances does trembling create? Sylvie Robinson has been diagnosed with a condition that causes visible trembling in her hands. She uses this circumstance as a choreographic tool and organizational form – engaging with notions of disturbance, structural failure, and the inseparability of our material and political worlds. Through the fusion of dance, language, and live drum compositions by musician and composer Akram Hajj, the performance trembles towards a reconciliation between the artist's body, the audience, and all that needs to be shaken. After all, there is so much for which we could tremble.
