SWR Kultur New Talent: Štěpán Jinek and Jan Čmejla

Evening of duo chamber music with rarities for bassoon & piano. Štěpán Jinek (bassoon) and Jan Čmejla (piano) are among the young exceptional talents of the Czech music scene. Pianist Jan Čmejla gained significant attention by winning first prize at the Bach Competition Leipzig 2025 and has been supported as SWR Kultur New Talent since 2026. He studies at the Mannheim University of Music, where the young bassoonist Štěpán Jinek also transferred after his training at the Prague Conservatory. During their joint concert in the White Hall at Schloss Mainau, Jan Čmejla and Štěpán Jinek will perform chamber music rarities for bassoon and piano, including works by Camille Saint-Saëns, Henri Dutilleux, and Anton Reicha. SWR Kultur will record the concert and broadcast the recording on November 23, 2026, at 1:04 PM in the “Mittagskonzert”. Additional concert for seniors: Wednesday, November 4, at 3 PM at the Margarete Blarer Senior Center “Im Paradies” in Constance.
