Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92 He is considered one of the most innovative clarinetists of our time; the press even celebrates him as a “world-class clarinetist”. Martin Fröst is undoubtedly endowed with extraordinary talent. More than that: he is constantly seeking new ways to challenge and reshape classical music. His repertoire is broad, his concert concepts are surprising. Now, the Swedish exceptional musician is guesting as Artist in Residence at Bodenseefestival 2027 by the lake. In this concert, he plays a dual role: as chief conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and as soloist – an evening in the so-called “play and conduct”.
The program centers around a specially assembled dance suite by Swedish composer Hans Ek. Baroque sound worlds from Rameau to Bach meet new perspectives. Fröst also emerges as a composer – among other works, with the “Nomadic Dances”, which he co-wrote with his brother Göran. The program is complemented by Jacob Mühlrad’s contemporary piece “Helix”.
