What happens when hands suddenly no longer do what they have done for centuries? When a body falls out of rhythm and lets you down? In this stage play, the theme of chronic illness is skillfully interwoven with the world of textile handicrafts: the steady rhythm of knitting needles, the recurring stitch in joints, the knots and tears, the patience, the capitalist implications, and the possibilities of resistance.
Between spoken word and fine storytelling, an evening emerges about health and work, pain and care, and the question of how our society deals with bodies that get entangled. Sarah Altenaichinger spins sailor's yarn and delicate bonds. And takes all the threads in hand. Directed by Nina Halpern
