Štěpán Rak 80 – guest of the Moravian Piano Trio

Description

A congratulatory recital of the guitar master. Štěpán Rak is primarily known as a guitarist, composer, and improviser. He will showcase all these artistic areas at the concert. The so-called "Rak's tremolo" has become a term in the guitar world. It employs a technique of playing with all five fingers of the right hand on one or more strings simultaneously. Štěpán Rak founded the guitar department at Prague's HAMU in 1982, where he currently focuses on teaching improvisation. You will be able to appreciate this art throughout the concert. Professor Štěpán Rak's lifelong effort is to present the guitar not only as a solo instrument but also as an orchestra. After the concert, everyone is invited to a glass of wine with the artists. Program subject to change.
