Description

Visit one of the most significant cultural-historical monuments of the country: the Jewish Cemetery, located south of Hohenems on the wooded slope of Schwefelberg. In 1617, when Count Kaspar of Hohenems permitted the settlement of Jewish families, a plot of land was also allocated to the new citizens as a cemetery. A total of over 700 people have been buried on the site, and burials are still ongoing. To date, 370 gravestones have been preserved. Meeting point: Cemetery entrance
