Stefan Eichner – better known as "Das Eich" – often hears questions like this after his concerts. Not surprisingly, because indeed, the "Relaxed Frank" is a lover of the chansons by Germany's most famous singer-songwriter and has mostly learned and refined his guitar playing with songs by Reinhard Mey. Now, Stefan Eichner has fulfilled a wish and put together a full evening Reinhard Mey chanson stage program, which he will now perform live alongside his own music cabaret programs. Of course, like Reinhard Mey himself, without a band. Only with guitar. The artist himself describes the evening as follows: "The songs have accompanied me for more than half a lifetime: at home, on tour, basically all the time. Reinhard is unique, impossible to copy, and that’s what this program is not about. It’s also not a 'Best of' concert. Reinhard Mey has written over 500 songs in his career. An incredible achievement. Therefore, from my point of view, a compilation of, for example, the 20 biggest hits of this achievement would not do justice. That’s exactly why, alongside classics like "Über den Wolken" and "Gute Nacht, Freunde," there are also songs from the "second and third row" that – as I find – also need to be played. In numerous conversations after the concerts, visitors tell me that they especially like this.
