Without water, there is no life. Water for drinking and washing, water as an energy source or for waste disposal – water has many functions. Using pictorial sources, objects, and plans, we look at the water supply of Rapperswil from the Middle Ages to modern times. We discuss the course of the city stream and its covering, the drinking water distribution from the well system to the house connection, and the introduction of sewage pipes.
