Description
Photo albums and individual pictures, chronicles and notebooks, architectural plans and drawings, films and sounds – all of these can be found in the numerous donations that the City Archive Rapperswil-Jona has received in recent years. The images and documents testify to different people and their biographies, to clubs, companies and events. The City Museum presents nine selected donations in its new temporary exhibition. It thematically embeds them and asks about their origin and relevance. It becomes clear that testimonies from private ownership are necessary supplements to the official collections in archives and libraries, so that a holistic picture of the living reality of past times can emerge.
