Description

Founded in 1994 by its artistic director Mauro Astolfi in Rome, the Spellbound Contemporary Ballet has since been exploring the boundaries of contemporary dance with great international success – innovative, virtuosic, and full of expressive power. With "Holy Shift" and "Forma Mentis," the company presents two choreographic signatures full of energy, precision, and emotional depth, celebrating the emotional experience of the power of dance. A double evening that combines physical intensity, musical tension, and outstanding ensemble work. "Holy Shift" explores the moment of inner upheaval: a "sacred disorientation" where new possibilities emerge from chaos, decay, and uncertainty. Through powerful images and precise ensemble work, Mauro Astolfi depicts a journey towards a new form of presence – attentive, open, and ready for change. In Forma Mentis, choreographer Jacopo Godani celebrates the creative power of dance in a homage to his new generation of young dancers – soloistically accompanied live by Alfonso Risoli on the versatile accordion, named the instrument of the year 2026.
