An atmospheric chamber evening bringing together the human voice and one of classical music’s most expressive instruments. On Wednesday, 2 December 2026 at 6:30 PM, soprano Viera Gulázsi Maňásková and guitarist Vladislav Bláha will perform at the new Dům mezinárodního dialogu NAIRI in Brno. The programme explores the delicate dialogue between soprano and classical guitar, moving through lyrical and operatic expression as well as repertoire inspired by the Spanish musical tradition. Viera Gulázsi Maňásková’s concert repertoire includes arias by Mozart, Delibes, Donizetti and Bellini, Baroque works, as well as Spanish music for soprano and guitar. Her career has a strong international dimension. She worked professionally in Iceland for many years, where she also served as a music director, organist and choirmaster. As a soloist, she has performed with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and collaborated with Virtuosi di Praga, with concert appearances in the Czech Republic, Iceland, Slovakia, Austria and Italy. Vladislav Bláha, Professor at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts and teacher at the Brno Conservatory, is a prominent figure in Czech classical guitar. He has performed in more than 55 countries worldwide and was the first Czech guitarist to give a solo recital at both Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Festival Hall in London. He is a prizewinner of several international competitions, and nearly thirty composers from sixteen countries have dedicated works to him. This concert offers the chance to experience two accomplished artists at close range, in a chamber setting where the colour of the voice, the subtle detail of the guitar and the musical dialogue between the performers can be heard in full.
