Special Exhibition: Unheard Unexplored

Description

In 2023/24, under the motto "Collect, participate, exhibit," the public was invited to provide Kreuzlingen objects for the "Stadtlabor" exhibition. Supplemented by their own objects, a broad spectrum of topics and the diversity of the collection were made visible. At the same time, it became apparent during the project that many areas are still little or not researched at all. The approach is continued with the "New Stories from the Stadtlabor": objects from the depot as well as new additions are shown, providing insights into different thematic fields and raising questions. In the spirit of "Citizen Science," citizens are also invited to engage with the stories behind the objects. What is the story behind the suitcase sent from Kreuzlingen to Lübeck in 1951 and rediscovered in 2023? Are the photographs contained within testimonies of a flight story between Lake Constance and the Baltic Sea? Which trail leads from Venice to the high altar of the Emmishofer Church of St. Stephan? And we marvel at how a Kreuzlingen physics teacher wanted to explain the world to children.
