Special Exhibition "Dr Valeishund"

Description

A huge, black dog with a glowing eye on its forehead and a bunch of keys around its neck. The legend of the Valeishund has been frightening the Sarganserland for centuries. And it does not fall silent.

The Museum Sarganserland follows the trail. In a special exhibition with exhibits, eyewitness reports, an audio contribution that historically contextualizes the background, as well as an artistic short film, the origin and mystery of this eerie figure are explored. What lies behind the apparition?

Special highlight: On display is the arbitration award from 1459 – the historical core of the legend. Many thanks to the local community of Wangs, which is showing this important document publicly for the first time.

The exhibition is open to visitors at the museum until October 31 (regular museum admission).
