Description

Sol Gabetta returns to St. Gallen, this time with highly romantic sounds. First with Edvard Grieg's Cello Sonata in A minor, characterized by a balanced dialogue between cello and piano as well as folkloric reminiscences. Then with Sergei Rachmaninoff's symphonic work, which, after a dark, ghostly beginning, culminates in an exhilarating finale.
With cellist Sol Gabetta, who captivates audiences both in and outside the concert hall, and Bertrand Chamayou at the piano, we can once again welcome two top artists in St. Gallen, whose passionate joy of making music is perfectly suited for the works of Grieg, Rachmaninoff, Britten, and Lutosławski.
