Shadows of the Pinus leads to an almost deserted campsite by the sea, where people live with loss, memory, and the fractures of their origins. Between pines (Pinus) and surf, figures encounter each other, marked by death, wars, religious influence, and family wounds. In poetic, fragmented images, a multi-voiced web of relationships and memories unfolds. Caluori combines narrative passages with lyrical and multilingual inserts, creating a novel about homelessness, migration, identity, and the aftermath of past generations. Shadows of the Pinus quietly and compellingly tells of the upheavals of our time—and of nature's resistance against forgetting. After her first poetry collection "Frag den Moment" (2019), she published further poetry and prose works, most recently the poetry volume with audio work "Ich weine am liebsten in Klos" (2023, lectorbooks). Her texts have been presented at festivals and events both domestically and abroad. For her debut novel "Schatten der Pinus" (2026, lectorbooks), she received the Literary Work Grant from the city of Chur and the Grand Work Grant from the canton of Graubünden.
