This story begins with an ending. While the protagonist waits for words at the police station that could make sense of a deadly accident as a witness, her thoughts keep drifting away: to memories of everyday scenes and existential experiences, to farewells, unspoken words, unhatched chicks or a dead fish heart that beats once more. A graphic novel about holding on, letting go, and remembering, as well as the impossibility of understanding life — and the persistent attempt to tell it anyway. She is co-editor of the comic magazine "Die Notbremse." Julia Trachsel lives and works as an illustrator and comic artist in Lucerne. ANGELA HEIMBERG is a passionate comic reader and has been managing the Comix Shop in Basel since 2007 — an institution in the Swiss comic landscape that not only sells trilingual comics but also organizes events and reaches a broad audience.
