So This is Christmas

Description

In a quiet Irish small town, anticipation for the upcoming holidays grows. Christmas trees are being cut down, colorful lights and garlands decorate the gutters, and festive music sounds everywhere. What is the most wonderful time of the year for some is especially difficult for others. Five households share the rarely discussed but very real experience of not being happy at Christmas – whether it's about managing Christmas expenses, overcoming loneliness, dealing with the amount of food, or enduring grief. Behind the facade of tinsel and festivity, the film explores the deeper connections that arise when expectations and reality collide. What emerges is a portrait of society full of humor, tragedy, and the question of the meaning of Christmas.
