Awarded multiple times at the Géza Anda Competition 2024, celebrated internationally, described by the press as a "volcano" – and no stranger in Friedrichshafen: In the Earthquake series, he caused a sensation last season. Now he returns to us by the lake.
The program features Camille Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor – a work created in just a few weeks in 1868 and surprising with an unusual beginning: no orchestral opening, but a free, almost improvised piano solo and a fast, virtuosic rondo as the finale. The blend of elegance, wit, and technical challenge seems tailor-made for Shmukler. The young pianist is undoubtedly one of the most promising talents of his generation. The Friedrichshafen Symphony Orchestra accompanies him with much experience and commitment; the second half of the program features Beethoven’s "Eroica". Under the direction of Joachim Trost, the ensemble combines professional musicians with ambitious talents from the region. A wonderful mix of high standards and joy of playing.
