«Grüezi! Händ sie min Hund gseh?» In his fifth program, Simon Chen goes out and puts his characters to the test of the here and now; funny, critical, and biting. Herrchen goes for a walk. And lets go of the leash. Born in 1972, Simon Chen grew up in Fribourg. The comedian refused military service and dropped out of university. In 1995, he passed the entrance exam at the Hochschule für Theater in Bern, where he also graduated four years later. Subsequently, he worked for several years as a theater actor, initially in the German province and later at the Theater Marie in Aarau. In 2005, he appeared for the first time on a poetry slam stage, marking a gradual transition from actor to word artist. Since 2007, he has been working independently as a spoken-word author and moderator, and also as a freelance contributor for Radio SRF (including "Zytlupe" and "Schreckmümpfeli"). In 2010, his first solo CD "Solange ihr lacht" was released, followed three years later by the book (including CD) "Sushi Casanova." He also had a guest appearance with Giacobbo/Müller and a minor role in the SRF late-night show "Querdenker." In 2015, he took a step into small art. His first program, "Meine Rede! Kabarett am Pult der Zeit," was performed around 80 times. In 2018, the second program, "Typisch! Kabarett für Einzelfälle," followed. From 2021, he toured with "Ausserordentliche Lage – Katastrophenkabarett." Since fall 2023, he has been on the road with his fourth solo program, "Im Anfang war das Wort."
