The legendary Capitol New Year's Eve party! Once again, the upcoming change of year can be celebrated in the usual party-loving manner into the new year. At Capitol Mannheim, Back to the 80’s and DJ Greg Silver will ensure a lively New Year's Eve party atmosphere from 9:00 PM. From 10:00 PM, the casino will also open its doors for the open party. While supplies last, goulash soup, pumpkin soup, and pretzels will be available for sale. With a colorful mix of pop, new wave, rock, funk, and Neue Deutsche Welle, Back to the 80s will sweep across the stage with full rock power, reviving the musical spirit of the 1980s — shoulder pads included! After the live concert, there will be Forever Disco with DJ Greg Silver. As a native of Mannheim, he travels worldwide as a DJ. He has performed at clubs around the globe, including WMC Miami, Webster Hall NYC, Pacha Ibiza, Coco Rico Rimini, Loveparade Berlin, Mayday, and Nature One. Let’s get the party started! For many, hardly any decade was characterized by so much tastelessness and fashion missteps as the 80s: shoulder pads, neon leggings, and leather ties are examples that not everyone recalls fondly. Yet, the decade, in which conventions fell, Perestroika began, and hairdryers were in fashion, developed a very special soundtrack that brought new energy to discos and stereo systems.
Back to the 80s revives the musical spirit of the 1980s. With a colorful mix of pop, new wave, rock, funk, and Neue Deutsche Welle, six musicians take the stage. Already known from renowned bands in the Rhine-Neckar region, they now fulfill the mission of bringing the vibe of the 80s back to the stage. Melanie Haag and Sascha Fischer form the vocal front of the band. Bernhard Aulbach (bass) and Tom Beisel (drums) provide a powerful and driving beat that got millions onto the dance floor. Christopher Stumpf contributes virtuously with lush synthesizer sounds that defined the sound of the 80s. The package is completed by sharp riffs and singing solos from Matthias Klöpsch on guitar.
Back to the 80s plays their program with titles from artists like Kim Wilde, Queen, Spandau Ballett, Eurhythmics, or Tom Schilling in authentic original sound. Therefore, Back to the 80s is not a normal cover band. It is a time machine that transports its audience with an engaging stage show back to the era of Rubik’s cubes, sneakers, and Miami Vice.

His sets are energetic and diverse, and he masterfully knows how to captivate the audience and create unforgettable club nights. Worldwide successes in clubs and festivals Greg Silver has performed on legendary stages around the world and has electrified dance floors at top clubs like Webster Hall in New York City, the famous Pacha in Ibiza, and Coco Rico in Rimini. Major festivals are also part of his repertoire: from Nature One to the legendary Mayday in Germany, and the Polish edition of the festival, he has left his mark everywhere and thrilled audiences with his unique sets. Despite his international success, Greg Silver has never forgotten his roots and is a regular guest at events and clubs in the Rhine-Neckar area. Here, he plays with the same passion and energy as on the biggest stages in the world, giving back to the local club scene and continually exciting his audience.
