Angela Metzger performs internationally as a concert organist and soloist with orchestras such as the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the WDR Symphony Orchestra. She has been heard with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne at the Cologne Philharmonic and the Elbphilharmonie. She has performed at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Berlin Concert Hall, the National Auditorium of Music Madrid, the Musashino Cultural Hall Tokyo, and the Royal Opera House Muscat. Concert invitations have taken her to festivals such as Toulouse les Orgues, Milano Musica, Quincena Musical, and the Varaždin Baroque Festival.
Her repertoire ranges from late Renaissance to new music and is documented in radio, CD, and video productions. Angela Metzger has been awarded at numerous organ competitions and at the ARD competition; she also received the Bavarian Culture Prize of Bayernwerk AG and the Bavarian Art Promotion Award.
She studied church music and concert organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Edgar Krapp and Prof. Bernhard Haas; for the latter, she took over the professorship substitute there in the winter semester 2017/18. Since 2023, she has been teaching organ at the University of Evangelical Church Music Bayreuth.
The Siemens Orchestra Munich was founded in 1983 by employees of Siemens AG who had come together in the Siemens Leisure Community to make music together. To participate, one does not need to be a Siemens employee; the orchestra is open to all music enthusiasts. About 60 musicians work on two challenging programs with symphonic works each year. As musical amateurs, they appreciate the deep insights into music literature from Baroque to modern, which conductor Markus Elsner offers them during rehearsals. The reward for their intensive rehearsals is the applause of their loyal fan base at the spring and autumn concerts in the Munich area. Additionally, the Siemens Orchestra performs a charity concert every year at the Stadttheater Amberg. The Siemens Orchestra Munich e. V. is a member of the Munich Amateur Orchestras and Music Associations Working Group (AMLO), the Federal Association of Amateur Music Symphony and Chamber Orchestras (BDLO), and the Bavarian Lovers' Orchestra Association (LBLO).
