Shem Thomas – From dropout to single with gold status At 30 years old, Shem Thomas decided on a radical new beginning: what initially resembled the Canadian film "Into the Wild" was the start of a career as a professional musician. He quit his job, lived in a VW bus, and rediscovered music. Starting with performances as a street musician, he reached the final of "The Voice of Switzerland" in 2014 – and immediately hit number 1 on the Swiss charts with his debut single "Crossroads." His first album was awarded gold, and the follow-up "8" also landed in the top 5 of the Swiss album charts, showcasing him as a versatile artist who refuses to be put into a box. His music is a wild mix of catchy singer-songwriter melodies, electronically infused pop, and excursions into various musical genres, including reggae. Shem Thomas captivates with an unmistakable voice – both raw and warm – and a charismatic stage presence. Whether at Moon & Stars, Openair Gampel, or in sold-out small theaters: for over a decade, the Innerschweizer has been a fixture in the local music scene. RAHEL: Honest stories and warm pop sound Expressive, genuine, and approachable: the Swiss newcomer RAHEL captures feelings perfectly. After years of experience in choir and singing lessons, she now writes her own songs. What started as an ambitious project for her Matura work led her directly into a recording studio: in early 2026, RAHEL released her debut EP "fragmentos de recuerdos." The five songs of the mini-album take the audience on a very personal journey. Musically, she combines modern pop with fine indie influences and a gentle touch of jazz, giving her songs a very special, warm depth. RAHEL is now looking forward to opening the debut of Shem Thomas and engaging the audience with her music. Those who love honest lyrics and touching melodies can look forward to an atmospheric opening act!
