Her production was on the playbill for nine years. Now she returns to this work – this time as a reading, with Katharina Thalbach as Macbeth, in the translation by Thomas Brasch. Together with her daughter Anna and granddaughter Nellie, she dedicates herself to Shakespeare's most famous tragedy – called "the play" in England because, whoever utters the title, suffers misfortune. Besides Lady Macbeth, there are mysterious witches and, at the end, a twist and coup of the world dramatist Shakespeare, a walking forest that determines fate. In distributed roles, a reading of special intensity unfolds – a cross-generational interplay of language, expression, and sound. Macbeth becomes a family drama in the best sense: an engagement with power, guilt, and destiny – lively, direct, and unmistakable Thalbach. The Thalbach family: an acting family with a special talent for narration! Katharina Thalbach has been on stage since her childhood. She is one of the most popular German-speaking film and television actresses. For her work, she received, among others, the German Film Award and the Grimme Award. In 2014, she received the German Audiobook Award for her life's work. Daughter Anna is a theater and film actress and one of Germany's most sought-after audiobook narrators. In 2008, she received the German Audiobook Award. She has appeared in nationally and internationally successful productions, including "Burning Life," "The Baader Meinhof Complex," and alongside Keira Knightley and Viggo Mortensen in "A Dangerous Method" (2010) by David Cronenberg. Nellie Thalbach, born in 1995 in Berlin, is an actress and the youngest of the Thalbach theater family. She made her theater debut in 2002 at the Maxim Gorki Theater as little Polly in "The Threepenny Opera." In 2005, she appeared alongside Katharina Thalbach and Götz George in "Maria Callas" for the first time in front of the camera. She is the voice and face of the podcast "Echt krank!" and performs readings and narrates audiobooks.
