He is not only a celebrated conductor with debuts with renowned orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the BRSO, and the Concertgebouw Orchestra; he is also a gifted pianist. Undoubtedly, he is among the outstanding conductors of the younger generation.
Since 2019, Emelyanychev has been the chief conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, which has been one of the influential ensembles in Great Britain since its founding in 1974. Internationally, it is appreciated for its stylistically precise, idiomatic interpretations – flexible in sound and open in repertoire. Additionally, Emelyanychev serves as the leader of the original sound ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro and as the First Guest Conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
This evening, Emelyanychev conducts Mozart from the piano – in a "play and conduct" format.
