This ballet piece is part of the standard repertoire of all major companies. Especially the Allegro Moderato from the swan dances of the 2nd act is a subject of countless parodies in the choreography of Lew Iwanow and is well known beyond ballet enthusiasts as the “Dance of the Four Little Swans”. The 42 dancers of the International Festival Ballet have all gone through this rigorous training, whether at the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, the Moscow Choreography Academy, Ufa Ballet School, or Perm Ballet Academy. They have all worked at the most important ballet theaters in Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova, and have won numerous awards at international ballet festivals and competitions.
