Description
In the performance “Sanddorn Balance,” an ultra-fragile giant mobile is created from 13 palm leaf clusters and a feather in flowing, hypnotic movements, which finally collapses in on itself. The performance made the Toggenburg dance theater Rigolo world-famous. Since 1978, Martin “Mädir” Eugster (1955-2023) and Lena Roth, along with their three daughters who have since taken over the theater, have created a unique cosmos full of poetry, archaic images, and acrobatics on stage. Whether in New Zealand, the USA, Japan, or Europe, in a theater, a variety show, or a tent, on Broadway, at Cirque du Soleil, or in museums, they receive undivided attention and enthusiasm everywhere. As a family, they lived uncompromisingly a life of total freedom and closeness to nature without financial security. A film about a family of artists who set standards in the circus field.
